Good question. A few reasons, actually:
1. We believe that what’s good for the industry is good for us. The more successful people we have in our industry, the more likely it is that we’ll be able to make something big of Everon.
2. We like to teach, and we like the idea of helping other entrepreneurs find success. There is no shortage of advice for MSP's right now from vendors, consultants, associations, and journalists - but we think we have something to offer that none of them have: we spend every day working in this business.
3. To make money. We aren’t going to lie; we hope to turn this into another real business by providing great value to our community. We’re entrepreneurs like you!
We pour everything we learn managing our multi-million dollar managed services practice into the content in our member’s area. We try not to cover too much of the basic stuff that you can get at other sites (contract templates, SLA escalation paths, etc.); instead we focus on the specific strategies and tactics that have made us money and will make you money today.
We’re big believers in education; if you can afford all of the various training programs that are out there, we highly recommend that you take advantage of them – we do! But if you are determining whether or not to choose us versus other options, here’s how we think we differentiate our site and content:
1. We aren’t sponsored by any vendors, so we aren’t going to push any products or services on you because we are being paid to do so. What we teach will be based on what we think works, nothing else. Other sites say they are vendor neutral… but check out their sponsorship lists!
2. As far as we know, we are the only people that have actually built a good-sized managed services business that are out teaching as well. We did it fast too – making the Inc 5000 list this last year. It seems to us that others providing instruction in this industry actually have teaching businesses that are bigger than their managed services business. Definitely not the case with us.
3. We are still in the industry and getting better at what we do every day. Every time we learn something, it gets passed on to you. This isn’t our full time job, which is to your benefit! Our content will be constantly developing with the latest strategies and tactics that are working today.
